You may choose heavy, medium, or light Imperial armor. Tullius will remember you from Helgen at the start of the game, and he'll direct you to Legate Rikke, who should be nearby. You can find a copy of the Archery skill book, The Gold Ribbon of Merit upstairs. The pro of joining the imperials: Nice gaurds. The light set contains the light variation of Imperial armor, the medium set contains a set of Imperial studded armor and an Imperial shield.
